By now, many of you have probably heard the buzz surrounding the possibility of Research In Motion introducing a tablet device later this year. The rumor has been out there for some time and most recently these rumors were fueled by the observation that someone at Research In Motion recently purchased the domain name Blackpad.com. Whether or not the name changes before launch remains to be seen, for now, I get a kick out of the fact that another tablet is headed to the market.
Reportedly due in November of this year, the device will have similar dimensions as the iPad, which has a 9.7-inch diagonal screen. The device will include Wi-Fi and Bluetooth wireless technology that will allow people to connect to the Internet through their BlackBerry smartphones. Clearly, RIM is motivated to bring to market a product that rivals the iPad and attempt to capture some of the share of consumers who are ready for a device that bridges the gap between a smartphone and a notebook computer.
Sounds like another opportunity for retailers to create a great customer experience around this product. When you are ready to introduce the RIM tablet to your product line, you can be assured the Vanguard will be ready to provide a world class power and alarm solution.
