The much anticipated Galaxy Tab was revealed today by Samsung. And the quasi phone-slate-tablet-eReader device is already making a big splash in some circles. This is mainly due to it having some major features the iPad does not.
The front and rear cameras, feather-like 13.4-ounce weight, expandable storage, Adobe Flash compatibility, and of course the fact that it can also serve as a phone, make it an appealing alternative to the front-runner in the tablet market, the iPad.
Samsung plans on marketing the device, which has a 7″ viewing screen, through mobile carriers beginning in the fall.
On the surface, it sounds like a good step forward for consumer electronics. What is your take? Do consumers want a tablet computer and a phone all in one device that is too big to fit in a normal size pants pocket? We’ll soon find out.
