5. How do I get the alarm to stop when it constantly sounds off for no apparent reason? There could be several reasons, depending on the type of product you are using.

  • When a false alarm sounds, all the red lights should go out, except the one causing the false alarm.
    • Cord reels, sensors, or extender wires can be worn, causing false alarming. You can swap out non-working pieces with working pieces to determine which part is not working.
    • Be sure to keep a good strong adhesive bond by changing the adhesive pad each time an item is replaced.
    • Be sure that the pin -- on the pin-activated sensors -- is mounted on a flat surface and not going into a groove.
    • Be sure the tie strap is pulled as tight as possible through the sensor head.
    • Be sure to tighten the security screw -- on the newer screw-activated G3 system -- into the tripod mount on the product so the connection is made.
  • When the red light does not flash on the sensor or port -- on the alarm module or splitter box -- to indicate which one is causing the false alarm, you will need to do additional troubleshooting.
    • Sometimes it is necessary to unplug all but one cord reel from the alarm module or splitter box, and wait a little while to determine if that is the one causing the false alarm.
    • You will need to do that individually with each cord reel that’s plugged in to see which one is causing the problem. | Back To Top

7. How do I know which power coupler to use on my digital camera or camcorder?

  • A color chart is built for each client, specific to the SKU on display.
  • That chart is shipped to every store with the security equipment and is posted on the company’s web site for convenience.
  • NOTE: As old SKU’s are replaced, new charts are updated and distributed to facilitate any change. | Back To Top
